In-School Snowball Fight (Talent Show Update/Half Band)!

     Hello, all.  I remembered earlier this week that the talent show came and went and I never told you guys what happened. (Sorry about that.)  I ended up changing the key of the song, but it turned out well anyway.  I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but there were cash prizes for first, second, and third.  I didn't win (a little disappointing, but to be expected).  Instead, this guy who performed an original piano piece called "Spontaneous Combustion" (Chemistry club, anyone?), and performed it well.  It was INTENSE.  He deserved it.
     You were able to buy roses (or maybe some of them were carnations?  I'm not positive) before the show or during intermission to send to the performers backstage.  Smore sent me one first thing (<3 love ya, marshmallow chick), but the odd thing was that during intermission (I was in act one) I received another rose from an anonymous group of "junior girls" who said "<3 you're awesome!!"  Awww, thanks, guys. ^_^  I really have no idea who they are, though...I thought it might be Perk and Lee (I've mentioned these two before; they go to my youth group and are juniors at my school), but they weren't at the show.  It's things like this that make life worth living.
     It snowed today.  Everyone agreed the local school grid was completely idiotic to allow school to go on as planned.  By third period, everyone had cabin fever and were just jumping around, trying to make a snowman in the classroom by catching snow out the window (this actually happened <_< Obviously, it didn't work), and incessantly asking the teacher whether we were going to be let out early.  We weren't.  (The jerks.)
     Apparently, I was the only one with enough sense to wear gloves, although they were the fabric kind and weren't particularly waterproof...  At lunch we all scarfed our lunches (when I say 'we all', I mean Smore, MC, half of MC's friends and I; the whole school was, unfortunately, not in on this) and shot outside into the courtyard to 'build a snowman'.  As soon as we did, Stulte, Bibbidy (a girl from OBOB club; I call her this because she's always wearing a powder blue hoodie that reminds me of the old color of my room, inappropriately labeled "Bibbidy Bobbidy Blue"), and Link (friend from Minecraft club) appeared out of nowhere, along with a girl who had a bright red streak in her short black hair (none of us had ever seen her before and she disappeared after five minutes without supplying her name...).  Our 'snowman' ended up being a three-inch high lump.  But the snowball fight we had was fun.  I have pictures!  I'll put a couple up at the end of the post.
     About five inches fell today, so it'll still be on the ground (and frozen solid) tomorrow.  The school network has finally let out a sigh and let us go.  ^-^  Patveli sent out a text copied from the school website announcing the closure.  He may as well have said "WOOP WOOP!"  Tomorrow was going to be a half day anyway, so it won't really affect the rest of the school year (those several snow days we had back in November broke the limit for our days off, so they had to take out a bunch of furlough days; any more full days off and we'd have to continue further into June).
     The Handshake Dynasty (I'm just giving up on keeping the name private...if you read this blog, you probably read my other mini-blog for the HSD anyway, so there's really no point anymore) is still hard at work on forming a band.  Patveli is trying to teach Stulte drums, but it's not really getting anywhere...Patveli has another friend who wanted to form a band and plays drums, so he may join.  We've altogether decided to form two separate bands, one with lots of vocals (that I'm in) and with...um...gentler songs, and another with mostly instrumentals to show off their (partially nonexistent) musical skills.  We'll see how this goes.
     Is it just me or was this post slightly more subdued than most?  Ah well.  I feel calmer today.  Probably because I made some good memories during lunch...or maybe because I really just have nothing to be particularly exited for.  *metaphorical shrug*  Or maybe because I need to finish writing in ten minutes.  That's likely it.  I'm in a rush.  Well, until next time, this is G-star signing off....enjoy the pictures!

Impersonal Opinions (I Lack the Strength/Layers Aren't All That Difficult).

     Pfff.  Hello, all.  G-star here.  Yes, I know, once again this is a day late, but because last night I wasn't able to go on the computer since the rest of the family was gone.  So let up.  Who am I kidding?  I'd be grateful if you criticized me.  JUST PLEASE COMMENT.  I'm getting desperate here.
     I think that I'm going to start being more casual about my "schedule".  I already stopped the weekend posts (mainly because I ran out of story bits to post), and now the Wednesday bit is going to heck.  So sometime from Wednesday to Friday is when I'll post.  But don't get me wrong, I really appreciate those of you who check the site every Wednesday for updates!  I'm so sorry you're always disappointed.  I'll try my hardest to post on time.  Just don't depend on my timeliness.  I'm not well-known for being dependable.
     In IHS Literature, we've been reading a pretty good book called The Samurai's Garden, by Gail Tsukiyama.  According to Smore, there's another book with the same name by a different author, and that one was made into a movie.  This one should be a movie, too, although if that were the case, I can name a few students who would simply watch the film instead of doing the required reading.  Anyway, almost every class we're given a reading quiz, each one in a different format.  The first one was just written answers, and the second was multiple choice, but then she had us do answers as haikus.  After that we had another of simple written answers, and this last one (we finished the book today) was a paragraph on whether or not we thought the ending was "satisfying".  If that wasn't odd enough, in this three-point paragraph, we were forced to refrain from using the words "I", "me", "you", and "your".
     Now you all know how opinionated I am, being a blogger and all, and the basis for this quiz (can I even call it that?  It was also open-book...) was the student's opinion.  So all of our "opinions" had to be stated as facts.  This worried me, and I thought of so many ways I could've made it better, although I am pretty happy with what I wrote.  I had planned to post what I wrote and what I wish I could've written in this post, but we had to turn it in at the end of the period.  Anticipating this, I attempted something I'd read in, oddly enough, a newspaper comic (ever heard of Slylock Fox?  It's in the Sunday paper): I placed the assignment sheet beneath my notebook paper (or more like Patveli's notebook paper) and wrote fairly hard.  Afterward, I went over the assignment sheet with the side of a pencil and the indents of my writing appeared.  Unfortunately, while it did turn out relatively legible, there was ink writing on the other side of the paper and so I couldn't make out more than a couple of words.  So I'm just going to do that in a couple days.  We should have it back by tomorrow.  Look forward to it!
     I'm working on a sort of poster art for that comic I've been "working" on (have I mentioned this?).  It's interesting, because I drew it in my sketchbook during school and then scanned it into the computer to work with on a manga art program I have (which I'm going to use for the actual comic as well, as it has panels and dialogue balloons and everything).  The first time I tried this, about a year ago, it got nowhere because I spent an hour trying to figure out why it wouldn't let me draw on the original drawing layer, then gave up.  Now, however, that I grasp (even lightly) the concepts of layers and such, it's much easier.  I may retry that old picture someday... I'm pretty proud of it, but I have no idea where the original is.  Just the scan file.  Anyway, when I'm done with this I'll put it up here.
     All of my teachers have been giving me big projects to do over the weekend...ugh...just thinking about it makes me feel the stress jumping up and down in my stomach.  I'll stop talking now.
     Apparently I was moved from Basketball third term to Strength and Conditioning.  Two words that make me tremble in fear.  The two classes switched rooms and periods, which really ticks me off, because they gave no warning.  Either way, I need a P.E. credit for this year, and seeing as I haven't taken any other exercise or sport classes this year, I need to take something other than Basketball that period, and that might have to be S&C.  Dangit, Basketball was the only sport on the list I was even vaguely interested in.... T-T  We'll see how this turns out.
     Well, I have virtually no time to access the computer, so I'll go now.  There was actually more I wanted to say, but none of it is important and only about half of it is interesting, so I'll save it for another day.  Likely the same one as the paragraph writing Mini-Ramble.  Until then, this is G-star, signing off.

This is Nonsense, But Video Games Come Up the Most (Smores are Delicious).

     Hello, all.  G-star here, with not much to talk about...  Well, firstly, here's a shoutout (no, I don't know what that is) to my friend Bianca (AKA Smore) at justmehighschool.blogspot.com!  I haven't checked it out yet (she won't let me open the page at school -3-) but you should!  I bet it's great!  Other than that, I don't know what to say.  Well, in that unofficial club I mentioned a few posts ago, we've finally decided what we're doing.  We've decided to make a video game; specifically, a dating sim.  We had two different versions; one where there's one protagonist and one main character, designed to make you like her.  The other was one customizable protagonist and a bunch of different main characters, each one with a different path should you choose them.  I think the latter would be too difficult, as it involves programming more paths and choices (not to mention characters), while the former would be simple and fun.  I made a survey and I'll edit this post and insert the link as soon as I can access it.  (Which I can't from the school computers.)  Anyway, so far my idea has been outvoted 8 to 2, but I think it has a better chance than the more complicated one.  Once the survey is up, please vote!  It's only one question; I'm sure you can find the time.  Please, blow their overconfidence in our collective abilities out of the water.
     Speaking of video games, my little brother bought a paintball Wii game.  (I didn't even know they had those.)  As he was taking the tutorial he could shoot the guide character in the face without it saying anything.  That's one resilient NPC.  Yes, I know, that was completely pointless, not to mention irrelevant.
     I'll see if I can talk about something more interesting.  Lessee... that book MC and I were working on maybe three months ago is finally being continued.  FINALLY.  I had written the second chapter and was waiting for her to continue the story, because I couldn't do anything more without her character doing something, but she took forever getting to Google Drive.  But now chapter three is on its way to being completed, so everything's okay!  And now I'm out of things to talk about again.
     UURRRGH.  This is like the problem I had with another blog website I attempted, trythistopic.weebly.com.  It was a complete and utter fail, mostly because I couldn't advertise it anywhere.  The biggest website I had presence on had a nasty habit of changing any link you posted to connect to said big website, so you couldn't advertise other websites.  The problem was, even worse than the fact I had no visitors, was that I needed comments to run the site.  People were supposed to comment with ideas about what the next entry would be on, and I would comply with my opinions.  Needless to say, it died after a week, though it is still active.  Comment on the latest post and I'll see if I can bring it back to life.
     This has to be the worst blog entry I've EVER written.  Normally, the night before I come up with a topic and outline for the next day's post but I fell asleep fairly quickly last night, and it doesn't help that hardly anything happened this week.  Seriously, all the things I just talked about were the most interesting happenings this week.  That seriously sucked.  In apology I'll do an update on my most recent reads.  Until Saturday, G-star out.  Gonen'nasai.

Recent Manga/Book/TV Update
Ouran Host Club (Bisco Hatori)- I actually watched the entire anime two months ago, but I'll count this as a recent read because I only just started reading the manga version, starting with volume 15 (I think?).  It's just as amazing as the anime, though the art is very different.  I've already read some of her series Millenium Snow, and that was definitely amazing, but this is even better.  Volume 16 contained a short story about when Haruhi's mother and father met...is it messed up that I'm now hopelessly obsessed now over Haruhi's father (pre-crossdress) and that I relate to her mother about how amazingly adorable he is?  ......
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.- I just love Fitz and Simmons.  LOVE LOVE LOVE XXX OOO {3{3.  Fitz is the best, of course, but the sibling-like duo's relationship is just so fun to watch!  The most recent episode was all about them, and I was sobbing like a small child when her goldfish dies when Simmons was about to die.  Ayaw........
